January 9th, the City
Council and staff met for
our Annual Retreat to
start shaping the City’s

working, and decide what
we want to focus on in
the year ahead.

✔WM (Waste Management)
Contract was extended
for two years - The City’s
contract with Waste
Management includes
the option for a two-

place, with only annual
cost-of-living and county
tipping-fee adjustments.

✔Approval of the 2026
Legislative Agenda - The
City Council approved
the 2026 Legislative
Agenda, which focuses
on public safety,
homelessness prevention
and reversal, local road
safety, environmental
enhancement, and
support for local
government revenue.

✔Marvista Park Parking
- The City will be
refurbishing Marvista
Park in 2026. As part of
the planning process, the
Council reviewed options
for adding additional
parking. After evaluating
the options, the Council
chose to retain the
existing parking lot
layout to avoid impacts
to park trees.
