Normandy Park City Scene Spring 2026 10 H ello! My name is Chloe Ryan, and I recently joined the City of Normandy Park as the Assistant Planner/Permit Tech in February. I previously worked for the Pierce County auditor’s office and hold a bachelor’s degree in urban design from UW Tacoma. I am excited to enter my first official planning role and look forward to learning the ins and outs of the city! I currently live in Tacoma, where I spend my free time getting out to enjoy the beautiful nature in the area. I also enjoy baking for family and friends, traveling to new places, and learning to play guitar. I’m grateful to be part of the Normandy Park team and I look forward to getting to know the community. Welcome New Assistant Planner/ Permit Tech Chloe Ryan! M y name is Jeremy Hammar, and I joined the Normandy team as Community Development Director in January. I have worked in planning for over 10 years with a number of jurisdictions throughout Western Washington. I began my career as a Planning Intern with the City of Burien, and I’m excited to return to the area. I live in Tacoma with my wife and two young children, and much of my time outside of work is spent being a dad. When I’m not desperately searching for foods the kids will eat, I enjoy playing music, watching baseball and football, hunting for electronics at Goodwill, tinkering with those finds, gardening, taking road trips, and trying to figure out the perfect pizza dough recipe. Welcome New Community Development Director Jeremy Hammar! O fficer Bladimir Tapia started the Washington State Basic Law Enforcement Academy as part of class 930 on October 21, 2025, and graduated on March 4, 2026. During that time, he completed 720 hours of instruction across a wide range of subjects. He will now move on to field training and, if all goes well, begin filling shifts in July 2026! If you see him, please be sure to welcome him to Normandy Park! We are excited to get him fully on board. Officer Tapia Graduated from the Police Academy! EMPLOYEE UPDATE
