Normandy Park City Council has three standing Citizen Commissions to advise 
it on a wide range of policy issues. We had two vacancies that were filled.
	
✔Resident Tamara Hardy was appointed to the Arts 
Commission. This Commission represents the City’s interest in art 
and serves as a spokesperson group for art matters in the City. 
	
✔Resident Larry Jordan was appointed to the Planning 
Commission. The duties of this Commission come from the 
Revised Code of Washington and are related to the City’s land use 
matters and long-range planning.
The City Council appreciates the involvement and interest of Normandy Park 
residents. Whether through attending meetings, serving on commissions, 
participating in community events, or staying informed, resident engagement 
helps make Normandy Park the special community it is. We encourage 
everyone to follow City projects and upcoming Council discussions 
throughout the year.

we welcomed Officer 
Bladimir Tapia Pascasio. 
We are honored to have 
Officer Bladimir on the 
force. We know he will be 
an excellent addition to 
our Police Department.
	
✔Presentation 
from WM (Waste 
Management) – WM 
Representatives shared 
an overview of local 
solid waste operations, 
the City’s waste stream, 
community outreach 
efforts, and upcoming 
service information. This 
annual presentation gives 
the City Council and 
residents an opportunity 
to learn about this 
important service.
Presentations
To formally announce, honor, or highlight a specific issue, the City Council may 
approve a Proclamation. Here are the recently approved proclamations:
	
✔National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week -April 12th–18th, 
2026, was proclaimed National Public Safety Telecommunicator 
Week, recognizing the critical role dispatchers play in responding to 
emergencies and supporting public safety in our community.
	
✔Arbor Day Proclamation - Saturday, April 25th, was declared 
Arbor Day in Normandy Park. Join us at Marvista Park on this day 
between 10:00 am and noon to celebrate and connect with the 
community.
	
✔Safe Boating and Paddling Week – The week of May 16th – 
22nd, 2026, was recognized as Safe Boating and Paddling Week. 
Whether you are fishing, sailing, paddling, or enjoying time on 
the water with family and friends, practicing safe boating habits is 
essential to protecting yourself and others.
	
✔Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week - May 15th, 
2026, was recognized as Peace Officers Memorial Day, and May 10th 
– 16th, 2026, as National Police Week. During this week, we honor 
the dedication and selflessness of our law enforcement officers and 
their families, and we recognize their commitment to building a 
stronger, safer community.
	
✔Public Works Week – May 17th – 23rd, 2026, was recognized as 
Public Works Week. Public Works professionals play a critical role in 
maintaining the infrastructure, facilities, and essential services that 
support the high quality of life enjoyed by Normandy Park residents. 
Through their dedication and expertise, they help ensure a well-
maintained community.
