ormandy Park’s 2026 Arbor Day celebration was 
a tremendous success, made possible by beautiful 
spring weather, strong community partnerships, 
dedicated volunteers, and enthusiastic residents. 
Attendees celebrated the value of trees, and learned how 
they can contribute to a healthier urban forest. The City 
distributed approximately 124 trees and shrubs; including 
ferns, vine maples, cascara buckthorn, Douglas-firs, and 
crabapples. These trees will help strengthen and diversify 
the community’s tree canopy for generations to come. If 
you missed the opportunity to pick up a free tree, please 
contact the Parks and Recreation Manager, Aimee Lloyd via 
email (alloyd@normandyparkwa.gov) to learn about future 
distribution events. We still have a few Douglas firs that need 
a home!
