Traveler (cntraveler.com).

“The reason why we rank so well on that is we do well in 
lots of areas,” says Bruce Hallsor, president of the Victoria 
Downtown Business Association (DVBA). “We’re not a city 
where people come to see one attraction and leave.” 
Victoria has a rich history, as the oldest city in the 
Pacific Northwest. “But we also are fairly young city with a 
vibrant tech industry that feeds a pretty vibrant and avant-
garde nightlife with clubs and late-night restaurants,” 
Hallsor adds.
Victoria is also very walkable, a reflection of its age. 
“This city was really built before the motor vehicle,” Hallsor 
says. “Certainly, the downtown was built for horses and 
carriages. It has a bit of a feel of a European city that way.”
