Management Association (MSPMA) 
played a significant role in the 
program’s delivery, demonstrating the 
association’s leadership and expertise 
on a national stage while helping 
provide attendees with practical tools 
and structured pathways for continued 
professional advancement.
Honoring a Lasting Legacy
Among the conference’s most 
meaningful moments was the 
announcement that NSPMA’s 
scholarship program will now carry 
the name of the organization’s 
founding president through the newly 
renamed NSPMA Jim Vicar Legacy 
Scholarship.
The recognition served as a tribute 
to Jim Vicar’s foundational leadership 
and enduring impact on the profession. 
Announced during the scholarship 
and awards presentation, the renaming 
connected NSPMA’s history with 
its continued investment in future 
leaders, reinforcing the organization’s 
commitment to supporting the 
next generation of school facilities 
professionals.
More Than a Conference
From the Sunday evening TopGolf 
scholarship fundraiser to the conference’s 
closing remarks on Wednesday, the event 
consistently reflected the strength of the 
relationships and shared mission that 
continue to drive the profession forward.
Kansas City delivered more than 
strong attendance and successful 
programming — it provided a renewed 
sense of momentum for school facilities 
leaders nationwide. Attendees left 
with new ideas, stronger professional 
connections, and a reminder that the 
work happening behind the scenes 
in schools every day has a direct and 
lasting impact on students, staff, and 
communities.
With that momentum now carrying 
forward, anticipation has already begun 
building for next year’s event. Next 
up are the MSPMA Summer DESE 
Workshops, followed by the MSPMA 
Annual Conference in Branson, MO, 
scheduled for September 27–29, 2026.
