b'OSPIs SCAP Review Work GroupWAMOA is participating in OSPIs SCAPR work group with Devlin Piplic and Denning representing WAMOA. The work group met on May 17 and June 6, 2024. OSPI has hired several contractors to help carry out the duties of the work group to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the SCAP program, and make any necessary recommendations. These consultants have given two reports during the 2025 session to the House Capital Budget Committee. Their work, which will include their final recommendations, should be completed by this fall.State Board of Health Work Group on School Environmental Health RuleWAMOA is participating in the Board of Health work group on School Environmental Health Rule. Geoff Lawson, Auburn SD, and Jeff Rogers, Tacoma SD are WAMOAs representatives on this group. This fall they have met several times a month. They are discussing the changes that need to be made in the WAC rules. They are working on Rules and Definitions, and great progress is being made. Their meetings are scheduled to run through April 2025.AIAWA Work Group on K-12 School Construction FundingIn 2023, through the Association for Learning Environment (A4LE), AIAWA invited WAMOA to join a work group. The work group meets monthly during the school year, and has put together an excellent document describing AIAs ap-proach to fund school construction. WAMOAs representatives consist of Travis Bown, Piplic, and Denning. These monthly meetings will resume in the fall. WAMOA JOURNALSPRING 2025 21'
