b'CITY NEWS4th of July ParadeHow It Began and How It Will ContinueEvery summer the Normandy Park Community Club (The Cove) hosts a party on the lawn (and a parade) to celebrate the 4th of July and the 2022 parade and party are back this year at the Cove! After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the party has made its long-awaited return. The Normandy Park Community Clubs (The Cove) Board of Trustees encourages ALL Normandy Park residents, their families, and friends to join the festivities from 10-2pm. At 9:30 am, Cars, trucks, parade floats and other fun vintage vehicles will line up at Marvista Elementary School Parking lot to parade down Marine View Drive all the way to the Cove property. Before the party and parade begin, there will be a 2.8 K Fun Run/Walk at 10:25am followed by the Childrens Parade at 10:30am. The Fun Run is free and you can pre-register by going to www.npcove.org. Hot dogs, popcorn, beverages and ice cream are served at The Cove party at 11:15 a.m. The field will be lined with classic cars. This is an annual tradition that has been happening for many years, but have you ever wondered how it all began?
